MY LIFESTYLE
Exploring this human experience.
I thought it might be interesting or maybe inspirational to share a bit about my lifestyle. A little sneak peek into my everyday, explorations and discoveries.
It’s important to me to live in a way where I am continuously building my connection to nature. Almost 5 years ago I left urban life and moved to the country to my home boardering the Shawnee National Forest.
Here, I garden to grow much of my food and forage my 22 acres and in the national forest. I forage wild edible greens, flowers, mushrooms, fruits and nuts.
I’ve given up all polyester and synthetic clothing opting only for natural organic clothing made from hemp, cotton, linen, etc. I use as much of natural products as I possibly can always looking for ways to reduce plastic use and toxic chemicals in products and food. I’m not perfect but, it’s about setting the intention and making progress over time.
Recently, I’ve taken up the practice of Earthing, also known as Grounding. This is the practice of walking and hiking barefoot. When the soles of your feet connect to the bare Earth you connect to the natural energy current which is said to have many health benefits. I’ve experienced a few of these benefits since I began this practice.
I work out and practice martial arts outside. I take time to observe the seasons, elements, flora, and fauna. It is my dream for my next home to be entirely off-grid surrounded by beautiful gardens and fruit tree orchards and exploring further ways to expand my connection with nature.
